Sleeping Through the Static

"But maybe I've been better off with things that can't be locked at all"
-- Jack Johnson "Losing Keys"

Does anyone think he might be singing about materialism?? I was listening to this song today and this line jumped out at me, and I thought that it would be pretty cool if he was talking about things that can't be locked away (like feelings) being more important than material things.

wow this blog is practically on fire now! haha

wow, on FIRE!

that's a pretty cool line, i don't think i've ever heard that song. is it if off his new album? because i have not heard that as of yet.

when we were in BC, (you know, where the MOUNTAINS are, and the MOUNTAINS in the CLOUDS with lots of POWDERY SNOW) and we were snowboarding, no one there locked their snowboard up when they went inside, cause there was just no point to it. i thought that was pretty cool.

you know what would be an interesting experiment? not locking anything. like, your car or your house or...anything that had a lock. and then if stuff got stolen you could be like "well, i'm better of without that anyways"

i don't think it would work very well with our parent's cars and our parent's houses though.

anyways, this is the longest comment in kyle's blog history probably. so i'm going to go.

i think now whenever i blog you have to blog, cause our date things match so well. and vice versa.

heh

ok bye

yeah, I've never heard that song either. Sounds like an interesting one.

And I think Brittni's experiment idea would be sweet. Can you imagine if we could actually say that we are better off with something if it was stolen? And just keep living without it, no matter how important it was to us? That would be sweet.

I wish materialism wasn't real. It causes so many problems.

This has nothing to do with this post.

I did not know that you managed a blog until today when I saw your comment on my blog, and then it struck me: "I wonder if Kyle has his own blog?" And low and behold, you do. The things I miss when I'm looking down.

I'm glad you found my blog, so I could find your blog.:)

I leave my junk (read: laptop) lying around at school all the time.

I feel pretty confident that it won't be stolen, but sometimes I think that if it did, I wouldn't mind so much. I figure if people at this school really want my stuff, they can have it.
It's kind of nice not to be too attached to your stuff, because nothing I have is mine anyway, it belongs to Christ.

Luke 22: 29.
I think the things God has given me are mine. I feel like a jerk for disagreeing with you so much lately Ryan. Sorry.
